Born in New York City in 1955, model turned actress Tanya Roberts was a household name before becoming a Bond girl in 1985 where she starred opposite Roger Moore in his final appearance as the famous British spy.
Roberts played Julie Roberts in the classic and hugely popular TV series Charlie’s Angels in the early 80s, although at the time she joined, its popularity was on the wane. The actress also appeared in The Love Boat and starred in the movie California Dreaming in 1979.
A View To A Kill was not well received by critics, and Roberts’ performance as a Bond girl was overshadowed by bodyguard Grace Jones.
Despite the disappointing outing as a Bond girl, the beautiful actress went on to star in the hit US comedy show, “That 70s Show”, as Midge Pinciotti (Donna’s mother) for over 80 episodes.
Roberts was married once to Barry Roberts, who she met in the queue of a movie theatre. Barry died in 2006 and the couple had no children.
Sadly, Tanya Roberts died on January 4, 2021, at the age of 65.
