Honor Blackman arguably played the Bond girl with the most famous name, Pussy Galore.

Blackman starred alongside Sean Connery’s in his third outing as the MI6 spy in Goldfinger, which is regarded as Connery’s best Bond movie.

Movie producer Albert R Broccoli said Blackman was the perfect choice as a Bond girl as she was a household name in the U.K from her performances in the British TV series The Avengers as Cathy Gale.

Broccoli said that even though American audiences didn’t know her, they would love her because “she was so good“.

Blackman had a long and successful career in acting and starred in a number of movies and successful TV series, including A Night to Remember, Columbo, and Midsomer Murders.

Born in 1925, the star was acting up until 2015 at the age of 90.

Blackman was twice married and had two adopted children.
