5. Tom Petty ($95 million)
Tom Petty was a singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and record producer – he really did have many strings to his bow! Initially a guitarist and lead vocalist in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, he also produced solo work. Some of the best songs he wrote were Free Falling’ and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Tom’s interest in music began after meeting Elvis Presley when he was ten years old.
Petty enjoyed a successful career. Unfortunately, Petty died in 2017 at the age of 66 from an accidental drug overdose of several medications.
